Hut Weekend Meets

Why go?
Get longer days, often in superb areas (Skye, Torridon.. ) out of range of day trips. Good company in evenings.

What accommodation?
Huts run by
MCofS or other clubs, private rented houses, private hostels, privately booked SYHA hostels (when normally closed).

Spartan or luxury?
Variable - check when booking. Dormitories not bedrooms in most. Kitchen usually well-equipped, many have good drying room. Some remote huts have no electricity or showers - but the situations more than make up.

How much?
Variable - typically around £6 - £12 per night. See schedule.

What to bring?
Usual gear, changes of clothing, sleeping bag towel etc. Bunks or Alpine-style mats in most but sleeping mats must be brought in a few. Earplugs handy if anyone snores. Food. Drink.

What are food arrangements?
Bring own supplies for breakfast plus food for the hill. Cooking groups (of about 6) are usual for evening meal - this makes best use of limited stove space. Each person agrees to provide one dish (a great way to get popular if you have some skill here!) -or maybe the wine. All this arranged at The Bull the Tuesday before.

How do I get there?
Drive or get a lift. Also arranged at The Bull.

How do I book?
Phone/e-mail meets convenor as soon as possible after the booking date (the day bookings open) in the schedule. Places are limited to the numbers shown.

Can I bring a friend?
